Session 1 - Matrilineal Inheritance and Economics
A herstory of ancient Matrilineal Cultures, their subsequent eradication and the effect on
womyn’s current economic, daily reality. An interactive class with lecture, guided exercises and
group discussion.
Session 2 - Understanding Sisterhood
What is the “Sisterhood”? How has it been twisted and abused by the patriarchy? This class
touches on Family of Origin, Spiritual Family, societal and cultural dynamics as they relate to
womyn and girls. Participants are guided through re-assessing their relationship with themselves
as womyn and in relation to the broader community and the “Sisterhood”.
Session 3 - Matriarchy and Patriarchy: The Basics
A study of ancient Matriarchal communities; the advent of mono-theistic, war-mongering
Patriarchy and it’s insidious effects on individuals (particularly womyn and girls), culture, society
and Mother Earth.
Session 4 - Rites and Rituals
What are Rites of Passage and why are they important? You’ll identify Rites of Passage existing in
current culture, explore your own significant life events and learn how to create rituals marking
these passages. You’ll also explore quality of life enhancing daily rituals.
